Creative Mornings Martin Jackson

The piece was used as promotional material for CreativeMornings, a breakfast lecture series for the creative community around the world.

I love lettering and when I got the chance to work with Martin I jumped at the chance. A master in his field, I wanted to come up with a concept that we could both relate to and still draw a connection to pull the audience in.

We worked hard at making sure that his story came through and that the calligraphy was not lost in the video.

Concept

I wanted to create something different. I wanted to make a connection between two elegant yet structured art forms that the audience could connect to. Loving the art of calligraphy I thought about the most visual representations of form, elegance, and rhythm and how to bring them together.

Is calligraphy is a dying art? Sadly, I think it is. Specifically in the traditional calligraphy style. But you know, there are some things that really cannot be done in any other way, other than something written by hand.
