Over the course of a year, more than 100 people sent in letters to The Love Letter Project. These letters were meant to address a challenge the author had experienced -- a kind of encouragement or piece of advice they would share with someone going through something similar. Artists were then invited to choose their favourite letter and create a visual response to it.
Depression and anxiety was one of the most common subjects of the letters. I remember my first serious heartbreak, the pain was suffocating and I felt like I was pulling myself in multiple directions. The heartbreak was filled with hurt and inner conflict. The letter I chose to interpret was titled "Dear Girl Who Can't Breathe Because Her Heart Hurts"
